Summer Intensive Banner

The Lexington Ballet Company Summer Intensive program is designed for professional dancers and students ages 10 and up.

 

Daily classes in Ballet Technique and Pointe or Pre-pointe.

Variations, Pas de Deux, Hair/Makeup, Jazz, Pilates, Modern, Dance Appreciation, and Choreography will be offered throughout the schedule.

Friday classes will be open for parent observation each week.  

 

A typical day will have two morning classes, a lunch break, and two afternoon classes.

Peff Modelski 

Peff Modelski

June 25-29 

Mme Modelski accomplished her early training with Margaret Craske and then went on to the High School of Performing Arts, School of American Ballet, American Ballet Theatre School, Harkness Ballet, Nanette Charisse, David Howard, and Willi Burmann. Her performance career included classic ballet with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet Company and American Ballet Theatre as well as Broadway in Fiddler on the Roof and Camelot.

 

Mme Peff Modelski has taught for 30 years at Steps on Broadway as well as the High School of Performing Arts in NY City.  She is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner® and is considered one of the most sought after resources in pointe work problem- solving.  She has created special programs for injury recover and students with dyslexia. Her professional students are now in every Broadway show and all the major ballet companies in the country.

   
Elena Bartley

Elena Bartley

June 11-15 

Elena Bartley graduated from “Escuela de Danza Ana Pavlova” in Mexico under the direction of Sonia Castaneda and Fco. Martinez. She danced as a soloist with The Dance Theater of Harlem.  She has performed in most of the major Opera Houses around the world: Metropolitan Opera House, Kennedy Center, Covent Garden,  Theater du Chatelet.

 

 

Elena received certification in The Pilates Method by Romana Kryzanowska in 1995. Elena has taught dance, dance education, and Pilates for Dance Theater of Harlem, Ballet Hispanico, Ballet Concepcion de Chile, Lexington Ballet, and Toledo Ballet Toledo Ballet. Currently she is a member of the Ohio Department of Education Dance Content Standards Writing Team. Currently she directs the Pilates Teacher Training certification program in Mexico, Valencia Spain, Panama and Costa Rica. Elena works with Cirque du Soleil “Believe” teaching Pilates to their artists. 

   

Keith Lee

Keith Lee

June 18-22 

Keith Lee joined American Ballet Theatre after graduating from the High School of Performing Arts. Fluent in both modern dance and ballet, Keith Lee served as Ballet Master of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, The Capitol Ballet, and Nanette Bearden's Contemporary Chamber Dance Company. Lee began choreographing in 1968; creating ballets for numerous companies such as American Ballet Theatre, Washington Ballet, Geneva Ballet, and Alvin Ailey Repertory Ensemble.

 

Keith Lee is a master dance teacher and has taught his own style of dance throughout the Americas including: Jacob' s Pillow, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Trikinia Kabilios in Bogota, Center Zena Rommett, Joseph Holmes Chicago Dance Theater, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Company, University of the Arts, Philadelphia School of Dance Arts.
