The Lexington Ballet is committed to developing life skills through creative and educational programs.
These programs are designed to inspire a greater appreciation for dance and introduce participants to the culture, music, and health benefits of this art form.
The Lexington Ballet's Outreach Programs provide inspirational arts education opportunities. With a generous grant from the W Paul and Lucille Caudill Little Foundation, we reached more than 3,000 young people last year at schools and community centers. The ballet company visits the schools for demonstrations and experienced instructors lead student workshops.
The 2012 Program has been updated and visits to more than 15 schools in Fayette, Scott, and Franklin county are planned.

Charitable Alliances
Working together, non-profits can expand their services to the community and stretch limited donations to their maximum potential. The Lexington Ballet is pleased to be sharing with the following organizations.
This scholarship is given in honor of Hannah Marguerite Thompson, a daughter, granddaughter, sister, friend and beautiful dancer; this scholarship will be awarded to a young girl in pre-ballet age 5 to 7 at the
Lexington Ballet. In the spirit of a lively young girl whose bright smile, infectious laugh, and love of family came through in her dance, we pass forward her gift to other young dancers with that same passion for life. One of Hannah’s favorite things to do was listen to music and to dance.Despite her young age, Hannah’s adoration of music crossed all boundaries and genres from Elton John and U2 to Frank Sinatra and Beethoven.Over the course of her illness, Hannah was concerned that she was no longer a good dancer, but when her parents assured her that she could dance, she would summon her energy when the music played and dance with the same animation and spirit as before she was sick.Hannah enlivened the world around her and those lucky enough to share her stage.
This scholarship is given on an annual basis and includes uniform fees.
The Durborow Family Scholarship

The scholarship is granted on an annual basis by the generosity of the Durborow Family.

First International Dance Exchange scholarships
Last August, Artist Director Luis Dominguez, was invited to participate at the First International Dance Exchange in Merida, Yucatan Mexico. The event was in honor of Luis's ballet instructor, Sonia Castenada. Luis was unable to attend but the The Lexington Ballet was able to offer three full student scholarships to the 2011 Summer Intensive in Lexington, KY. We are thrilled to have these girls visiting us this summer and taking class with our local students. It is a wonderful opportunity for both schools to share experiences and for the students to see first hand how ballet is common across languages and cultures.
The Lexington Ballet celebrates the strength, vitality, and grace of all women.
